Theresa May has announced her support for people between the ages of 23 and 40 in buying their first home. This will be done by helping to unlock 30 areas of land around the country to build on. Specifically targeting those struggling to buy.
The homes will start early this year and will be available to buy from 2018. The housing hopes to also regenerate town centres through new investment and development of green spaces.
The housing minister has discussed how the government is committed to building homes to help young first time buyers get their foot onto the property ladder. The homes will be given financial support by the government and will be sold by developer with 20 per cent discount to help young people who have saved to get a mortgage.
