Jacobs Steel COVID-19 Statement | 24 March 2020
During this time of unprecedented uncertainty, all of us here at Jacobs Steel are concerned about the safety and well-being of our families, colleagues and customers.
Our hearts are with those who have been affected personally by the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) as well as the many communities around the world that are facing extreme measures in the attempt to slow its spread.
Recent Government warnings and advice are a sincere indication of how perilous the COVID-19 pandemic is. In adherence with the latest government advice and in order to protect the health and well-being of our people and our clients, we will be closing all of our sales offices temporarily.
We have been preparing for the fact that this may be a necessary step in our nation’s battle to beat the outbreak and, as such, have put the following steps in place to continue helping people move home:
Our Managers will continue to progress the sales that are already in hand and will maintain high standards of communication between our sellers, buyers and their respective solicitors.
Due to the current high demand of lettings properties and the necessity to hand out keys to emergency contractors, our lettings office will remain open with no more than two staff members. Entry to this office will be via appointment only.
Our hearts once again go out to all of those who have been personally affected by the outbreak of coronavirus COVID-19) and everyone in our country and around the world who are now facing extreme measures in an effort to defeat it.
The safety and well-being of our staff and our clients has always been paramount, so we hope you understand this decision.
We would like to stress that we are still here for our community and will do our best to answer any concerns, anxieties or queries you may have about your personal circumstances within the property market.
Show consideration for others
We would kindly ask all of our clients and contractors, where it is necessary to come in to the office / meet with our staff, to follow government advice and maintain good levels of hygiene. This includes hand washing and spraying surfaces that we are likely to come in to contact with (such as door handles) with antibacterial sprays/cleaners. This is a precautionary measure and we fully appreciate your cooperation.
See the positives
Whilst there is no doubt the current situation is worrisome, it won’t last forever. We are confident that once the war against COVID-19 has been won, the property market will regain the momentum that we began to experience following December’s general election.
The economy needs to keep moving and people still need homes. Serious buyers will still be searching for property and looking online for their next home, so it is important we maintain our usual level of marketing.
Stay in touch
We’re here to help, no matter what. Please feel free to get in touch with us if you have any concerns about buying, selling or renting a property. We will be posting regular updates on how the COVID-19 situation is affecting our industry along with any changes in government advice on our Facebook page.
Support your local community
These are uncertain times for many business in our community, so do show your support by shopping locally where you can. Smaller grocers, bakeries, butchers and so on will need as much support as possible – and will likely have better stock that the larger supermarkets!
